SUMMARY
Water, Future Memories is an 8-chapter fictional police thriller, which narrates the potential political and social conflicts surrounding freshwater exports from the glaciers in southern Chile, in the year 2030. Set in the landscapes of the Chilean-Ar- gentinean Patagonia, the series recaps the historical circum- stances and implications of the extraction of natural resources in the region, with a view to a dystopian future, where the wilderness is contrasted with an automated and globalized world, engaged in an urgent debate between the conservation and exploitation of its last hydric resources.

SUMMARY
Clara (29), a literature teacher suffering from panic attacks, returns to her parents’ house after breaking up with her boyfriend Miguel (35). Clara grieves, obsessed with Miguel. Her family goes on holiday and she stays to look after her sick and depressed grandmother Bernarda (78). Thus, she begins, reluctantly, a friendship and a complicity that unfolds during a hard process of mutual learning. Clara overcomes her fear of water by taking swimming lessons, says goodbye to Miguel, and helps Bernarda to end her mourning over her husband’s disappearance, in an intense and symbolic journey to the sea just before leaving.

Two parallel stories. Carla (25), is a young war veteran who suffers from post-war trauma and feels that she is a burden to her beloved family, so she tries to end her own life. After an unsuccessful attempt, she will search online for a partner to accomplish her task. Samuel (27), is a wealthy young man, who has fallen into a deep depression after losing his mother and girlfriend in a tragic accident. He meets Carla online and together they embark on a journey to the desert in search of a plant called Jimson weed, which is lethal in high doses. The trip will bring them together, as well as many surprises and great fulfillment. In the end, we will see if they were able to accom- plish their task.
